Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot today said that the Raje government has "failed" in containing crimes against the Dalits which is a cause of grave concern for all.

Gehlot claimed that the state is on the top in atrocities against Dalits and law and order situation is deteriorating in the BJP rule.

"A dalit girl was raped and murdered in Bikaner this year and the community demanded a CBI probe but the government has not fulfilled the demand and has not referred the case to the CBI which shows the government's apathy towards the community," Gehlot said.

"The people belonging to Dalit community live in fear and they feel insecure in the BJP rule," he said in a statement.
