The water in a dam in the district belonging to TNEB is turning red in a phenomenon suspected to have been caused by some chemical reaction, local residents claimed today.
It was noticed by the villagers, some 28 Kms from here, who claimed that this was for the first time they were witnessing such a phenomenon.
TNEB was storing the water in the dam and release it to other dams, incuding Sinkara, where electricity was being generated.
The villagers said they had informed the local officials.
