Daman-based builder freed from kidnappers, 4 held

The city police today arrested four persons and rescued a Daman-based builder who had been allegedly kidnapped for ransom by the accused.

Assistant commissioner of police Khushalchand Baheti said Yahya Nazir Digmar, resident of Khariwaad Nani in Daman, was kidnapped last week. The accused had demanded Rs 5 crore for his release from his father.

Daman police learnt that the kidnappers had taken him to Aurangabad and later alerted city police commissioner Amitesh Kumar.

A team led by DCP Sandeep Atole and ACP Baheti raided a hotel in the National Colony area here today and freed the victim. Shaikh Zubair Shaikh Jameel (26), Masiuddin Kamruddin Shaikh (22), Najam Budan Shaikh (25) and Shaikh Saleem Shaikh Aziz (21) were arrested and the car used in the crime was seized.
 

ACP Baheti said all the accused are residents of Jamner in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra.

They were handed over to Daman police for further probe.
