Filmmaker Don Scanlon has been roped in by Disney to direct their upcoming untitled Pixar project set in a suburban fantasy world.

Scanlon, who helmed Pixar's "Monsters University," joined Pixar CCO John Lasseter at the ongoing D23 Expo to share a few details about an all-new original feature film currently in production.

"We love taking audiences to new worlds they've never seen before," Lassester said.

A screen saying "The untitled Pixar film that takes you to a suburban fantasy world" promptly appeared behind him.

The project will follow two characters who must go on a quest to track down their lost father, a man they known nothing about.

"This movie is a mixture of the fantastic and everyday," Scanlon added.
