Dance festival at Thanjavur Big Temple from tomorrow

The week-long 'Brahan Natyanjali', a dance obeisance to Lord Bragadeesvarar of the ancient Big Temple here, will begin tomorrow, coinciding with 'Mahashivarathri'.

More than 600 artistes from all different parts of the world will take part in the festival, being organised by the Brahan Natyanjali Foundation.

Besides Bharatanatiyam, 'Kathak', 'Odissi', 'Mohiniyattam,' and Kuchipudi would also be performed during the event which will end on March 2.

Classical dancers from New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Manipal, Guruvayur and countries like Dubai, Australia, England and Malaysia would be among those taking part, foundation President V.Varadarajan told reporters here.
