Boyle, 56, briefly teamed up with 007 as part of his London Olympics Opening Ceremony, which featured cameos from Bond star Daniel Craig and Queen Elizabeth II, reported Daily Express.

But Boyle is adamant that he would never sign up to helm a future installment in the superspy series, because his time working on blockbuster "The Beach" put him off handling massive sums of money.

"No, I'm not very good with huge amounts of money. Don't trust me with huge amounts of money, anybody. I did a film, The Beach, which was a proper Hollywood-scale budget and it didn't suit me," he said.

"The Beach", which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, boasted a budget of 30 million ponds, but Boyle's biggest commercial hit, "Slumdog Millionaire", was made on just 9.3 million pounds.
