In view of 'Darbar Move', the annual practice of seasonal shifting of capitals between Srinagar and Jammu, the state government has asked the transporters not to charge unreasonable fares from the passengers.
"The transport department has directed all transport unions not to charge extra or exorbitant fares from passengers moving from Jammu to Srinagar in connection with Annual Darbar Move for the year 2013-14," an official spokesperson said.
According to a notification issued by the transport commissioner, anyone found violating the directives shall be dealt under law.
