Daredevilry of Military Police's biker contingent applauded at

A thunderous round of applause reverberated in the air as the Military Police's Shweta Ashwa (white horse) rode down the Rajpath displaying their daredevil motorcycle riding skills.

People erupted in loud cheers as the display began with salute to President Pranab Mukherjee by team captain Havildar S Satish Kumar while standing erect atop his motorcycle.

It was followed by another thrilling stunt with Havildar Sukhdev Singh balancing himself atop a ladder balanced on his motorcycle.

The acrobatic skills of the team were displayed through different formations including double bar, lotus, aircraft, Christmas tree, sudarshan chakra and flower pot.

People cheered loudly as the largest formation comprising 15 motorcycles and involving 60 personnel, titled pyramid, reached Rajpath. It was the largest pyramid even made by any team on Rajpath.
 

The display concluded with wheeling in which lone rider Lance Naik Santosh MK came speeding down the Rajpath balancing his motorcycle on the rear wheel and the front wheel in the air.

The Shweta Ashwa team was set up in Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh) in 1952. It has progressed leaps and bounds and its personnel distinguished themselves in daring motorcycle riding skills.

The team holds the record of forming the largest pyramid comprising 133 riders on 11 motorcycles that covered 305 meter which is the longest distance achieved by any team in the world. This feat got included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
