Rear Admiral S V Bhokare, Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Fleet, handed over the charge to Rear Admiral B Dasgupta at a ceremony at the Naval Base here today.
A Navy release said that Dasgupta, a specialist in Navigation and Aircraft Direction, is a graduate of National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla. He is a recipient of the Yudh Seva Medal and the Vishishtha Seva Medal.
Prior to taking over the command of Eastern Fleet, he served as Chief Staff Officer (Operations) of the Western Naval Command.
Rear Admiral S V Bhokare will take over as the Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, Kerala, on promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral, the release added.
