Dasna jail's reply sought on release of NRHM accused Shukla

A special CBI court today sought reply from Dasna jail authorities about release from jail of senior IAS officer Pradeep Shukla, who is an accused in the multi-crore NRHM scam.

Special CBI judge S Lal sought reply from the jail superintendent, about the release of Shukla, who was not produced in court, despite a summons being issued on him.

CBI's counsel V K Sharma told the court that on November 6, summons had been served on Shukla, but even after that he was released from jail.

The court has fixed November 22 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
 

Meanwhile, six doctors accused in the scam were declared absconders by the court, which fixed November 25 as the next date of hearing in the matter.

Dr S K Trivedi, Dr Neeta Srivastava, Dr C K Jaiswal, Dr Kamlesh Singh, Dr Suman Vajpayee and Dr Rajesh Gupta were declared absconders.

Hearing in three cases related to the scam did not take place today and the court fixed November 29 as the next date of hearing.
