Dattatreya lays foundation stone for ESI hospital in Vizag

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today laid the foundation stone for a 300-bedded Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospital here.

The ceremony was attended by Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The hospital will come up in Gajuwaka industrial area. Spreading across 6.80 acres of land, the hospital will have state-of the art design and facilities comparable to any corporate hospital, a release issued by ESI said.

The hospital has catchment area of Vizag, Viziangaram and Srikakulam districts which have 1.91 lakh insured persons and 4.49 lakh beneficiaries, it added.

Later, Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the newly constructed Visakha Institute of Medical Services (VIMS) in the presence of both Dattatreya and Venkaiah at Hanumanthawaka junction here today.
