Dattatreya seeks release of funds for projects in Telangana

Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today sought early release of funds meant for development projects in Telangana by the Rural Development Ministry.

In the meeting with Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Dattatreya sought Rs 126 crore for Provision of Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA) project in Warangal district of Telangana, besides urging to release funds due under MGNREGS.

"In the year 2016-17, the Centre had released Rs 1,666 crore for the employment guarantee scheme. Tomar has assured to release Rs 42 crore pending under the scheme," said the minister.

Dattatreya, who is also an MP from Secunderabad, said he had discussed various other issues of Gram Panchayat, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
 

"Under PMGSY the state has to receive Rs 238 crore, including the previous dues which the minister has assured of disbursal. Besides he has also assured to visit Telangana and review various funds that are due to be released," he said.
