Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl surprised a crying fan when he invited him to join the rocker during an acoustic rendition of the song "My Hero".

The 46-year-old rock musician, who was performing in Colorado, was ready to give a speech comparing the towns he tours in to one another paused when saw a man crying, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"Don't cry...I know you're drunk...Don't cry. I'm gonna sing this... Song right in your face, man to man, prison style, I'm going man to man. I want some real tears, you better sing it with me...," Grohl said and asked the audience to help the fan get closer to the stage.

After belting out the song's chorus with the fan, Grohl summed up the moment to the crowd by saying, "That's great thing about a Foo Fighters show. You never know what you're going to get," he said.
