Singer Dave Grohl joined the Rolling Stones on stage during their concert.

The Foo Fighters frontman was a surprise guest at the band's sold-out concert in Anaheim, California, where he was brought out unannounced to play guitar and share vocals with Mick Jagger, reported MTV online.

British DJ Fearne Cotton, who has a baby boy with guitarist Ronnie Wood's son Jesse, was among the fans at the Honda Center who went wild when Grohl turned up.

In a post on Twitter, Cotton posted, "I thought the show couldn't get any better and then Grohl walked out! Dream gig (sic)."

There has been no shortage of famous faces onstage at The Rolling Stones' ongoing 50 & Counting tour.

Katy Perry, John Fogerty, Gwen Stefani, Keith Urban and Tom Waits have all appeared at previous concerts.
