The couple is parents to Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 9, Cruz, 7, and 12-month-old Harper, reported Daily Star online.
"They are normal kids. And that is because me and Victoria have kept our roots and a very English, down-to-earth living for the kids. We want to give them the same morals we had growing up, the way our parents brought us up, which was in a very strict way," David said.
Although the Beckham family has not lived in Britain for over a decade, London-born David, who currently lives in Los Angeles and has previously been based in Spain and Italy, feels it is important to stay in touch with his roots.
"I have lived out of England now for 10 years but it does not change anything. I will never forget where I am from, never forget my roots. It does not matter where I live, I am English, simple as that. And I want our kids to have an English upbringing," he added.
