BBC's upcoming comedy satire "Decline and Fall" has officially signed David Suchet and Douglas Hodge.

They will join previously announced cast Jack Whitehall and Eva Longoria in the BBC Two three-parter, written by James Woods (Rev). It is adapted from Evelyn Waugh's 1928 novel of the same name, reported Digital Spy.

Set in the 1920s, the miniseries follows Paul Pennyfeather (Whitehall), who is wrongly dismissed from Oxford for indecent exposure after being pranked by The Bollinger Club.

Forced to take a job at Llanabba, an obscure public school in Wales, Paul meets the wealthy and powerful Margot Beste-Chetwynde (Longoria), who is the mother of a pupil.

Filming begins next month in Wales.
