Day after rains, temps dip in Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana, including Chandigarh, today hovered below normal limits, a day after the two states

were lashed by rains.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 33.6 degrees Celsius, down five notches against the normal, a Met department report said.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 33.3 degrees Celsius, down five notches against the normal, while Karnal's maximum settled at 32.6 degrees Celsius, five notches below the normal.

Hisar recorded a high of 35.5 degrees Celsius, down five degrees, while Bhiwani's maximum settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 33.3 and 33.4 degrees Celsius, down four and five notches, respectively.

 

The report said Amritsar's maximum settled at 32.8 degrees Celsius, six degrees below normal limits.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow, according to the Met department forecast.
