Day temp falls in Himachal Pradesh, 'yellow' warning issued for Thursday

Day temperatures in most parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday plummeted to 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Bilaspur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.

The weatherman has forecast rain and snowfall in the state over the next few days.

Snowfall and rain may lash some places in the middle and high hills of the state from Wednesday to Monday.

The weather department has issued the 'yellow' weather warning for Thursday.

The department issues colour-coded warnings to alert people ahead of severe or hazardous weather. Yellow is the least dangerous among the weather warnings.

Shimla Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap has urged tourists not to go towards high altitude places and landslide prone areas to avoid any untoward incident.

 

In case of an emergency, people can contact district disaster management cell on helpline number 1077 and telephone number 0177-2800880, 2800881, 2800882, 2800883, he added.
