Maximum temperatures today hovered above normal levels in Punjab and Haryana.
The Union Territory of Chandigarh had a high of 35.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, according to a MeT department report.
In Punjab, maximum temperatures in Amritsar and Ludhiana settled at 36.7 degrees and 35.7 degrees, two notches above normal, while in Patiala the maximum was 37.2 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.

In Haryana, Hisar's maximum was 40 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. Ambala, Bhiwani and Karnal recorded maximum at 36, 39.4 and 34.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The MeT department said Punjab and Haryana will experience partly cloudy days in the next three days.
