People living in Punjab and Haryana today got some respite from the on-going hot weather with day temperatures in most parts of both the states settling at below normal levels.
The day temperatures hovered between one to five degrees Celsius below normal limits, the MeT office said here.
In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Amritsar was the hottest place with a high of 37.4 degrees Celsius, which was however, one notch below normal.

Among other places, Patiala and Chandigarh settled at an identical high of 36.5 degrees Celsius followed by 36.4 degrees Celsius each at Bhiwani and Ludhiana, two notches below normal, 36 degrees Celsius at Karnal and 34 degrees Celsius at Narnaul which was five notches below normal.
The MeT has forecast clear sky for tomorrow.
