In a daring daylight robbery, over six unidentified persons today looted about Rs 30 lakh cash at gun-point from a nationalised bank's branch in Vrindavan area of the district.

The robbers barged into the Chaumuha branch of Syndicate Bank this afternoon and threatened bank staff to hand over cash. The bank cashier was injured as the robbers hit him on head with the butt of the gun, SSP Manjil Saini said.

They also robbed a villager who had come to the bank to deposit money, he added.

"The exact amount of money robbed is yet to be ascertained, but the bank manager said the looted cash should be between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh," Saini said.

Before fleeing, the robbers damaged the CCTV cameras of the bank and snatched the guard's gun, he added.
