Senior IAS officer DB Gupta was appointed as the new chief secretary of Rajasthan today, a government release said.
A 1983-batch officer, Gupta was serving as the additional chief secretary, finance, excise and taxation department.
Gupta, who hails from Jaipur, has held important posts, including those of the district collector of Sirohi and Ajmer, commissioner of the Jaipur Development Authority and principal secretary of major departments in the state government.
He has an MA in Economics and also holds an MBA degree.
Gupta replaces N C Goel, who completed four months as the chief secretary today.
