DC orders to withhold salary of employees found absent

The deputy commissioner of Kathua has ordered to withhold the salary of officers who were found absent during his surprise visit to several offices of the district.

"Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Ajay Singh Jamwal, today ordered action against employees found absent from duty without proper leave or permission," an official spokesman said.

He said that the deputy commissioner paid surprise visit to various offices in Sub-Division Hiranagar, along with the local SDM and during the inspection of Block development office, Public Health and Engineering, Power Development department, Municipality and Tehsil offices found some officers and officials absent from duty without leave and proper permission.
 

"Taking serious notice of absenteeism in these offices, the DC directed the concerned to seek explanation from the absentees and withhold their salary till they clear their position," he said.

The DC directed the officers and staff to maintain work culture and punctuality, adding that no indiscipline will be tolerated and strict action will be taken against the erring employees, he said.

"He instructed the department heads to adhere to office timing strictly so that general public faces no inconvenience during office hours," he said.
