Leading by example, the Delhi Commission for Women, which had written to AAP ministers to facilitate jobs for acid attack victims in their respective departments, has employed two women sufferers in the Commission.

DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal said two acid attack victims have been given jobs in the Commission.

"One of them will be a part of the 'Acid Watch Cell' of the Delhi Commission for Women. Some of the priorities of the Acid Watch cell are ensuring acid attack victims get proper treatment as well as to follow-up their cases in court.

"The other woman has been employed in the help desk of DCW where she will be hearing grievances of complainants and working towards resolving the same," Maliwal said.

The Commission is also looking into employing a third acid attack victim and is currently conducting interviews for the same.

The women's body is working with the Delhi government to rehabilitate acid attack victims and has collected CVs of 33 women victims to facilitate timely provision of jobs to them.
