DCW seeks DUSIB report on lack of recovery shelters for

Taking suo motu cognizance of a media report that there are no recovery shelters for homeless women in Delhi, the DCW has issued a notice to the CEO of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) seeking a detailed status report on the matter.

"The (media) report states there are several homeless women who require post-hospitalisation care but there are only two recovery shelters for homeless that too only for men," DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal said in the notice.

"It is extremely crucial that DUSIB takes preventive measures to provide adequate recovery shelters for homeless women especially in the winter season," she said.
 

The Delhi Commission for Women has asked DUSIB's CEO to submit a detailed status report on the matter within seven days.
