The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) will collaborate with the Delhi Police's Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) to resolve cases that are registered with both the offices.

DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal today met Joint Commissioner of Police and head of SPUWAC Robin Hibu and DCP Varsha Sharma along with other members of the Commission.

Hibu explained them the working of the unit, which earlier was known as Crime Women Cell and set up in 2009.

"It was a fruitful meeting during which both DCW and SPUWAC decided to work in collaboration. Also, it often happens that same complaints are made to us (DCW) and also to SPUWAC. So in that case, one of the institution will take up the case so that the complainant does not have to make rounds of both the offices," said sources from DCW.
