DD, AIR to telecast special programmes on Vajpayee, Malviya

Public broadcasters Doordarshan and All India Radio have planned a range of special programmes to celebrate former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday tomorrow which has been declared as 'Good Governance Day'.

Programmes on educationist Madan Mohan Malviya, who along with Vajpayee has been conferred with the country's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna, have been planned.

Officials said that Doordarshan has lined up several special documentaries for telecast tomorrow.

'Geet Naya Gata Hoon', a documentary on Vajpayee, the statesman, parliamentarian of four decades, great orator and poet, will be telecast on Doordarshan's National channel tomorrow at 11 AM. Another documentary titled 'Rashtriyaneta Rajneta' will be aired at 9.30 AM.
 

'Swapna Sakaar', a documentary on Malviya will be aired by the broadcaster at 9 AM, on DD National channel. It will also be telecast by regional DD channels at a separate time.

Among the several programmes planned by All India Radio (AIR) for tomorrow include a discussion 'Shiksha Ke Badalte Moolya Aur Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya' on Indrapratha channel of AIR, Delhi.

Apart from discussions and other programmes, a poetry session in which eminent poets would recite poems composed on base lines taken from Vajpayee's poems will also be telecast.
