Employees of DD News have requested Prasar Bharati seeking its aid for a family of a 37-year-old bulletin editor, who had passed away a couple of days ago.

A delegation of contractual employees of DD News met Prasar Bharati Chairperson A Surya Prakash seeking support for Kumar Avinash's family, which includes two young children, aged 4 years and 2 years, and his wife.

"Avinash worked for several years in the organisation but his family is in a difficult situation now as DD News does not provide social security to contractual employees. We have requested Prasar Bharati that the deceased's wife should be given a job on humanitarian grounds," a member of the delegation said.

The meeting was a positive one, the member added.

Apart from a job, DD News employees in a resolution, also sought financial aid for the family of the journalist who passed away on June 27.
