DDC recomends revision of minimum wages in Delhi

The Delhi Dialouge Commission (DDC), an ideating body that recommends policies to Delhi government, has proposed a revision of minimum wages in the national capital.

"@DelhiDialogueCo has recommended revision of minimum wages in Delhi based on the concept of 'living wage' defined by Supreme Court Raptakos Brett case case & ILC," DDC vice-chairman Ashish Khetan tweeted.

The Raptakos Brett case is one of the parameters to determine the minimum wage which should also account for children's education, required medical expenses, recreation in festivals/ceremonies and provision for old age and marriage.

The Delhi goverment has cleared the Minimum Wages Bill, which is expected to be tabled in the Delhi Legislative Assembly next week.
