The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) today received the much-needed completion certificate from South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), clearing the deck to host World Twenty20 matches at the Ferozshah Kotla stadium here.

"DDCA has received completion certificate from South Delhi Municipal Corporation," said CK Khanna, Vice-President of DDCA & BCCI in a release.

"We are thankful to all those who helped us in getting the important completion certificate including all Dept /Agencies," the statement added.

The ICC World T20 is starting with the qualifiers tomorrow and the tournament-proper will begin on March 15 when India take on New Zealand.

The DDCA had sought a completion certificate from the SDMC to host World T20 matches at the Kotla, which the corporation had denied.

However, after the Delhi High Court intervened, SDMC agreed to grant a provisional occupancy certificate to the DDCA on the condition that the cricket body takes care of the 60 anomalies, which the corporation pointed out, within next 20 days.

The ICC Chief Executive Dave Richardson also gave a go ahead to the Ferozshah Kotla stadium, saying they are confident that the matches will proceed at the venue.

The Ferozshah Kotla ground will host four World T20 matches, including one of the semifinals on March 30.

"Completion from SDMC has been received with efforts of all the directors and Staff of DDCA," he added.
