De-addiction centre employee shot at in Noida

An employee of a de-addiction centre was shot at allegedly by a liquor addict for trying to take him for treatment in Bhangel here, police said today.

Dehradun-based de-addiction centre employees Vivek and Ashish yesterday came to take away alleged drugs and liquor addict Balvinder to admit him for treatment on his father's request, Noida Phase 2 police station SHO Shawez Khan said.

As they reached Balvinder's house, he opened fire at them. A bullet hit Vivek's thigh, he said.

The injured man was admitted to a hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.

The accused Balvinder was absconding, Khan said, adding an investigation is underway.
