The Jammu and Kashmir government will establish de-addiction centres in all district hospitals across the state within next two months, Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat said today.
During an interaction with prominent civil society members, Bhagat said hospitals in all districts will be provided with requisite equipments and technicians for carrying out dialysis at district level.
The minister also expressed concern over increasing incidents of drug abuse in the state and called upon the civil society members to contribute in saving the youth from this menace. He asked them to formulate 'Mohalla Committees' to monitor and report the cases of drug abuses.

Assistant Drug Controller was directed to conduct inspections of supply records of the chemists to keep a check on the drug abuse whereas the senior superintendent of police was directed to take stringent action against habitual offenders under the Narcotics Act.
Impressing upon the concerned to prescribe only generic medicines, Bhagat said the Prescription Audit Committee constituted by the government will carry out audit of all health institutions in the district once in six months and stringent action will be taken against the errant doctors for not prescribing as per guidelines.
He also directed the chief medical officer to establish a health sub-centre at Kurliyan within a week.
