Arunachal Pradesh today celebrated International Yoga Day by organizing sessions in various parts of the state.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu along with Home Minister Kumar Waii and other cabinet colleauges joined a yoga session organized at 1st Arunachal Pradesh Police Battalion at Chimpu, near here, while Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein joined the session along with BJP state unit president Tapir Gao at Indira Gandhi Park here.
Addressing the participants of the session, Khandu appealed the people to practice yoga regularly for a healthy life.
"Yoga is useful to release stress, particularly for the government employees who could not manage time to take rest," Khandu said and lauded the state unit of Patanjali Yog Samiti for organizing the event.
He also urged the people to practice yoga for at least a few minutes every day.
Exercise not only ensures a healthy life but also strengthen mind and prevents diseases, Khandu said, and added that yoga is the panacea of all diseases.

The chief minister also lauded the initiative of Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra for directing all the deputy commissioners of various districts through video conferencing to organize Yoga Day in their respective districts.
State Assembly Speaker T Norbu Thongdok led the yoga session at Banquet Hall here while sessions were also organized in various schools of the state where large number of students participated.
