Deaf and mute woman roaming in Samba district reunited with family

A 55-year-old deaf and mute woman, who was found roaming in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, was later reunited with her family, the police said today.

Kamlesh Kumari, a resident of Langate area in Kathua district, was found roaming in Smailpur village near Bari Brahmana yesterday, a police official said.

He said the woman was brought to the police station but was unable to give any information and she was found to be deaf and mute.

The police succeeded in tracing her family and she was handed over to her brother Jagdev Singh after proper verification and completion of all legal formalities, the police official said.
