Death of 2 minor boys: NHRC seeks report from Haryana govt

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today sought a report from Haryana government and police following allegations into the death of two minor boys at an Anganwadi centre in Pardhana village in March.

The notices has been issued to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police in Panipat.

According to NHRC, media reported that two brothers Sagar (7) and Raman (4) fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal and died later.

However, other children were not affected.

The Commission's directions are based on a complaint filed with it mentioning media reports about the incident. The complaint sought the Commission's intervention as no FIR had been registered in the matter till now.
