A division bench, headed by Justice D V Shylendra Kumar, quashed the sentences on appeals filed by the accused.
In all, 12 accused had been awarded death sentence and 11 accused life by a special court in Parappana Agrahara on November 29, 2008. Subsequently, they filed appeals.
The appeals of the remaining 12 accused are still pending before the high court.
Of the 11 accused, 10 were acquitted.
The death sentence of the first accused in the case was set aside but he was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment. However, since he had already completed 10 years of imprisonment, he was also acquitted.
