The Additional District and Sessions Judge of Dhanbad Ram Sharma today awarded death sentence to a man for rape and murder of a minor girl six years ago.
The judge held Kalu Singh guilty of rape and murder and termed it rarest of rare case and ordered that Singh should be hanged till death.
The judge also ordered that Singh pay a fine of Rs 50,000 which should be given to the victim's family.
Kalu Singh had raped and killed the girl and smashed her face with a stone when she was returning after bathing in pond on November 3, 2007.
Victim's mother and elder brother were eye witness to the incident.
