Authorities say a psychologist who was burned in a Bucharest nightclub fire has succumbed to her injuries, bringing the death toll to 61.
The health ministry says 36-year-old Ioana Raluca Panculescu died yesterday in a German hospital where she was being treated for severe burns.
The ministry said 41 people remain hospitalized - 19 in Bucharest and 22 in hospitals in Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Israel and Germany. Three others were discharged from Bucharest hospitals today.
The blaze erupted during a heavy metal concert at the Colectiv nightclub on October 30. Fire sparked by a pyrotechnics show sent panicked people stampeding to the club's single exit.
The initial death toll of 26 has risen as victims succumbed to complications caused by burns and the inhalation of toxic gases.
