Death toll in Rajouri road accident rises to 4

A 26-year-old man, who was critically injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, today succumbed at a hospital here, raising the death toll in the mishap to four, a police official said.

Mohammad Shafeeq was among the 14 people who were injured after a mini-bus skidded off the road and overturned at Budhal in Nowshera area yesterday. He died this evening.

Three persons had died in the mishap yesterday.

The official said the driver of the vehicle, Balbir Singh, was arrested from Kagiote village. He had escaped from the scene following the accident.

"An investigation is going on and the police has sought help from the motor vehicle department," the official said.
