Debt ridden contractor commits suicide in Thane

A 36-year-old debt ridden contractor allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead in his car in Gaimukh locality the city, police said today.

The deceased has been identified as Sanket Jadhav, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-V) Sunil Lokhande.

Jadhav was a resident of Panchapakadhi area, he said.

"It was around 6.30 pm that Jadhav went to Gaimukh locality and shot himself dead in his car with his licenced revolver," said police.

The revolver with which he shot himself was found near his body in the car itself, said police.

Police have recovered a suicide note next to his body. It was addressed to his wife Vidya wherein the deceased has stated that he had incurred losses in business and was depressed and hence taking the extreme step, confirmed the official.
 

Jadhav has a five-year-old son and lived with his elder brother.
