Debt ridden farmer commits suicide in Punjab

A 24- year-old farmer reeling under his grandfather's debt allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Sakkanwali village here, police said today.

The deceased has been identified as Jaskaran Singh.

According to the police, Singh took his life last night.

He had a debt of Rs six lakh, which was taken by his grandfather, who died about three years ago. Singh also lost his father about eight months ago, the police said.
