DEC ready for filing of nominations

With the filing of nomination papers for seven constituencies for the Lok Sabha elections beginning tomorrow, the Delhi Eelection Commission is all set to tackle the rush of candidates who will line up to join the poll fray.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has finalised the list of Returning Officers (ROs) for all the seven constituencies in the city along with their office addresses and phone numbers.

"The list has been provided to all political parties contesting the elections and has also been shared with security agencies," said a senior election officer.

All the necessary information regarding the filing of nominations and details of the forms and affidavits required for the same have been provided to political parties, added the official.
 

Moreover, a handbook containing guidelines for candidates has been distributed in every constituency through district election offices.

The filing of nominations will start on March 15 and continue till March 22. After scrutiny on March 24, candidates can withdraw their nominations till March 26.

Out of seven constituencies, six are general seats and

One is reserved for scheduled caste. The parliamentary constituencies are Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and North West Delhi (reserved).

The election in Delhi is scheduled for April 10.
