Bugles sounded the last post as an RPF contingent fired in the air to bid farewell to their colleague Sukanta Debnath, killed in a Maoist attack on a train near Jamui in Bihar on Thursday.
The body, taken to Debnath's village at Chakchouberia in North 24-Parganas district in a coffin from Jamui by Purba Express, was cremated at Gaighata cremation ground.
Three people, including the RPF personnel, were killed when armed Maoists raided Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express and fired indiscriminately.
