The Election Commission will make a quick decision on complaints of violation of the model code of conduct (MCC) by any major leader of West Bengal and let it known to the people within a day, an official of the state election department said Wednesday.
The EC will upload the status of the complaint on its website every evening, state Additional CEO Sanjay Basu told reporters here.
The MCC reference link will be available on the cVIGIL app from Thursday, Basu said.
"This is an important link. Once we receive complaints about leaders violating MCC, we will upload the status of the complaints by noon and then will send the CEO's decision to the EC. The decision of the EC would be available on the website by 6 pm for the public viewing," Basu said.
So far, the Commission has received 2859 complaints on violation of the MCC, he said.
There will be another link on cVIGIL app in which the EC would let the people know about its decision on whether or not the MCC was violated by a government project, he said.
