The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today demanded that the state government declare a holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh like it observes on Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah's birthday.
Jammu and Kashmir today observed a holiday on the 112th birth anniversary of former chief minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
The state government should announce September 23, the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, as a state holiday as it does on December 5, the birth anniversary of Abdullah, JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh said.
The JKNPP also demanded that the state government declare a gazetted holiday on October 26 to commemorate 'Accession Day'.
