There has been a decline in the prices of many vegetables in last three months in the national capital, Delhi government claimed today.
Government said that there was a significant decline in the prices of many vegetables including onion, potato, tomato and cabbage in the month of December 2014 as compared to the average retail prices of these vegetables in December 2013.
"Prices of many vegetables have shown a declining trend in last 3 months," SS Yadav, commissioner of Food & Supply department, said.

"Price of tomato has also shown a declining trend. The arrival of onion, potato and tomato was significantly higher in December 2014 as compared to December 2013," Yadav said.
He also said that action is also being taken by the Department of Food, Supply and Consumer Affairs against the traders involved in various malpractices and cheating of consumers.
"In the last 3 months, 1076 traders have been prosecuted under the Legal Metrology Act 2009 for various malpractices," he also added.
