AAP today deplored Prime Minister Narendra Modi's response to the Dadri lynching incident and terming of the opposition attack as "pseudo secularism", and said it doesn't behove a Prime Minister to make such "pseudo statements".

AAP leader Ashutosh said Modi is behaving like he is the Prime Minister of the BJP and not the country.

"After reading the interview, I feel deeply disappointed. At least we are not expecting such a statement from a Prime Minster. It seems that Narendra Modi thinks himself as the Prime Minister of BJP, not the country's PM," said Ashutosh.

He was referring to Modi's interview to a Bengali newspaper. Breaking his silence Modi described the Dadri lynching and opposition to Ghulam Ali's concert as "undesirable and unfortunate" and made clear that his government had nothing to do with them but accused the opposition of indulging in "pseudo secularism" and politics of polarisation.

The PM also charged that the opposition was using minorities as vote bank by raising the bogey of communalism.

Ashutosh claimed the PM has never condemned what happened in Dadri village in Uttar Pradesh where a 57-year-old man was murdered over rumours of beef consumption. He said he also didn't assure to the country that such incidents would never happen again in the future.

"It's a pseudo statement and the whole country should realise that the Prime Minister who talks about secularism, is basically practicing pseudo statements and this is more dangerous in that sense," he added.

Taking a dig to the controversial statements made by Union Tourism and Cultural Minister Mahesh Sharma, the AAP leader said the Noida MP is a part of the Modi cabinet and that the PM can not shirk off the responsibility.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the Prime Minister reacts to whatever things happen around the world, but he is reluctant to react on what happens in his country.
