Defence Pension Adalat at IAF command a big success

A two-day Defence Pension Adalat (DPA) was successfully conducted by Headquarters Maintenance Command, (HQMC) Indian Air Force at their campus here.

Organised under the aegis of Controller of Defence Accounts (CGDA) New Delhi for on the spot redressal of grievances of Defence Pensioners including Defence Civilians, the DPA was inaugurated by S S Mohanty , Controller General of Defence Accounts while Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force was present on the occasion.

There were 269 registrations for the Adalat and 72 cases were settled on the spot while others are in process.

Speaking on the inaugural occasion, Mohanty outlined the various initiatives taken by DPA in the sanction and disbursement of Defence Pension.
 

He added that there are more than 25 lakh Defence Pensioners in India and all efforts are being taken to ensure that issues related to pension are resolved with minimum loss of time.

He also highlighted various steps being taken to improve the entire pension disbursement system.

He appealed to all pensioners to make full use of the toll free number 1800-180-5321 at Pension Cell Allahabad and also link their PPO with Aadhar number.

Air Marshal Singh, in his valedictory address, highlighted that the event will provide a composite platform to the ex-servicemen and their families to redress their wide ranging issues related to pension and other benefits.

He also exhorted them to optimally utilize the facilities for redressal of all outstanding issues.

Representatives of various defence establishments and organisations namely PCDA (Pension) Allahabad, prominent nationalised banks, Zilla Sainik Boards, Army Station Kamptee, Ordnance Factory Ambazari and representatives of Defence Accounts department attended to the grievances of the defence pensioners.

The Adalat received an overwhelming response and approximately 500 pensioners attended the adalat and discussed their grievances.
