Defence personnel being trained on cyber security

Experts from the Indian Armed Forces have gathered at the naval base INS Valsura in Jamnagar to brainstorm on the ongoing global cyber attacks and have hands-on training on cyber security.

The workshop on cyber security of embedded systems is being conducted at INS Valsura from May 22 to May 26 under the aegis of Vice Admiral A R Karve, the commanding chief of the southern naval command, a defence release said today.

"In the prevalent cyber threat environment, it is incumbent for the Armed Forces of the nation to safeguard critical information and embedded systems which are omnipresent on battle platforms," it added.
 

"As IT experts across the globe struggle to survive the ongoing global cyber attacks, the Indian Armed Forces have gathered together to brainstorm and have hands-on training on cyber security at INS Valsura, Jamnagar,"it said.

The workshop, which was inaugurated yesterday, is being attended by senior officers from three services -- Army, Navy and Air Force, the release added.
