Delegates from sixty countries will visit a model village in Gujarat Sunday to see implementation of various government projects including the Mahatma Gandhi Swachhata Mission, a senior official said.
The delegates will also visit various sites associated with Gandhi's life including the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar and Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.
These delegates are taking part in a convention being held in Delhi ahead of Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2.
A total of 138 delegates from 60 countries, including Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sukhrob Kholmuradov, will visit Punsari in Sabarkantha district which has been hailed as a model village and India's first "smart village", said commissioner and secretary of the state rural development department Mona Khandhar.
The visiting delegates are from countries such as Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Chad, Kenya, Ghana, Morocco, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Singapore and Vietnam, among others.
